Paella
1.5 onion diced
1.5 green pepper diced
fry until soft on lowest heat of spanish gas ring (I did keep turning off but actually next time try not doing)
1 cap full of paprika
4 turns of salt
a good few strands of saffron (10 stringy ones?)
stir and fry for another minute or so
an inch of rice from our tubs
stir and fry for 5 mins
pour in a tin of tomatoes and stir
pour in a litre of stock (mixed one cube veg, one cube chicken)
stir and move rice around for 10 minutes
leave alone with seafood on top for 15 minutes (experiment with timing of this – this meant seafood cooked [from frozen] and rice cooked but no real socorrat – maybe needs turning up at this point but seafood going on a bit later)
