Sticky Sesame Chicken

For the chicken

5 tbsp olive oil
1 egg lightly beaten
3 tbsp plain flour
10 tbsp plain flour
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
Full capfull paprika
Full capfull 5 spice
3 chicken breast fillets chopped into bite-size strips

For the sauce

2 tbsp sesame oil
4 tbsp Cider vinegar
4 tbsp honey
4 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
3 tbsp ketchup
3 tbsp sugar
6 tbsp soy sauce

For the rice

Brown rice
Peas
Sesame seeds

Method

Put rice on – it will need 30 minutes
Place all sauce ingredients in large Meyer pan on medium heat until the sauce bubbles, then leave on minimum heat while doing the chicken
Place egg in one bowl
Place 10tbsp flour in one bowl with salt and pepper
Place rest of flour, 5 spice & paprika in another bowl
Cut chicken into bite-sized strips
Dredge chicken in egg then in plain flour, then in seasoned spice/flour
Cook the chicken in large non-stick frying pan until starting to brown then turn down to minimum
4 mins before the rice is done put the peas in the water with the rice
Once the rice is cooked pour sauce over the chicken and turn pan off. Toss the chicken in the sauce then drain the rice. Serve some and put the rest in a bowl in the middle.
Stir the chicken then serve on top of the rice
Sprinkle with sesame seeds
